February Club Meeting
Club Biosecurity Officer Fiona Fernie will give us a presentation on how we will have to change our hive management techniques once Varroa arrives.
March Club Meeting
Flow hive co-founder Stu Anderson will demonstrate how to do a disease inspection on hive 3. Following this Stu will be available to answer questions in the lunch room over a cuppa.
April Club Meeting
To be confirmed but probably a presentation on treating bee stings and the use of EpiPens.
January Club Meeting
The meeting starts with the hive inspections and rob and once all the inspection gear has been cleaned up and packed away, we will adjourn to the lunch room for a cuppa, sausage and a presentation by committee member Martin Carroll, about the GCRB Web page. I will follow this with a quick tour of the GCRB Beekeeping Training and Resources Hub. We will also have our usual raffles with a honey sieve and a 10 frame unassembled box as two of the prizes.

September Club Meeting
Topic to be determined but we may have a hands-on workshop on honey extraction using the new GCRB 8 frame extractor
Father’s Day Evening Market at Bunnings Nerang
This is a chance for members to sell any homemade products and to teach people about bees.
August Club Meeting
Member Peter Nixon is going to talk to us about his long hive and top bar hives.
July Club Meeting
Drew will be demonstrating how to split a native bee hive and how to extract honey from a native bee hive. This will be followed by a member’s forum on preparing your hives for winter.
Field Day
The GCRB is hosting a field day. The field day will include beekeeping equipment suppliers having stalls on site, other stalls and presentations by industry experts in the lunch room which will be converted to a 50-seat ‘lecture’ room.
